Juan M. Falomir-Pichastor

I'm professor in Social Psychology at the University of Geneva, Switzerland.
My research focuses on the psychosocial determinants of attitudes and behaviors; why sometimes we change them easily while other times we are very resistant to.
Overall we investigate the role identity and threat play in influence processes. This research focuses on different applied fields such as the effectiveness of campaigns promoting health, particularly those conducted by experts, or the influence of social norms on prejudice and discrimination (xenophobia, homophobia).
Another set of my research examines the psychosocial factors (group political functioning, apologies) that influence justice judgments, in particular those regarding collective punishment that applies to all group members (including innocents persons).
